There has been some discussion on the community forums about tv shows that are available in some countries on networks other than the network of origin. TMDb has decided (as last I understood) that they will not support situations like the recent PBS show Van der Valk which was originated in the Netherlands where it is now dormant but is very active in the United States. So if you are looking for information about Season 4 of Van der Valk on TMDb you will not find it because the network of origin has not released season 4 and might never. This is sad but reasonable and totally within the rights of the TMDb developers to make this decision not to support these cases. A corollary case is where PBS might take a show like Profilage (Paris Murders) and morph it in strange ways from the original network. Again, it is totally reasonable for the TMDb developers to avoid supporting these cases too.
That said, I would like to open the discussion among the cognoscenti of the TMDb community to potential solutions to these problems that get those of us who care the data we want, preferably in a way that might be of value to the TMDb developers. I have no proposal at the moment but perhaps some community member might. Something that those of us developing software on top of TMDb might collaborate on and develop further.
Looking forward to ideas and suggestions but fearing crickets. :-)
